In recent years, the touch-screen password input of POS machines has gradually replaced the input method of the traditional physical key panel.

In shopping malls, airports, hotels, unattended and other payment scenarios, there are some visually impaired or elderly users. The smooth and floodlit touch screen of the smart POS machine prevents them from accurately finding the number they want to enter. , and it cannot give them the sense of security of the feedback force brought by the resilience of the physical buttons. The intelligence of POS machines has brought a bad experience to these users.

After discussion and research, our product manager developed and designed an external braille button for a smart POS machine according to the needs of visually impaired and elderly users:

• The whole structure of this external braille button is made of silicone, which is soft, comfortable and environmentally friendly;
• The shape and function can fully achieve the same effect as the traditional physical buttons of POS machines;
• The overall structure and shape can be customized according to the size of the smart POS machine, and the inner side of the button is polished to prevent falling off and closely fit the touch screen of the smart POS machine;
• When pressed, the bioelectricity of the human body is conducted to the corresponding contact points of the touch screen through the conductive silica gel in the middle, so as to perform input operations.In the early days of the development of Braille buttons, the biggest problem was that the conductive silicone and the insulating silicone were not firmly bonded and fell off easily, affecting the service life.
