Product Overview

Compact handheld terminals present a specific challenge for protective cases: the smaller the device, the less margin there is for fit errors. On the PAX-D190, the rounded grip edges and tight interface spacing meant that a generic mold would produce uneven wall thickness or block access to ports. We treated the terminal's curved profile as the starting point, mapping the grip edges and interface openings before designing any mold geometry.

Wall thickness was balanced across the curved surfaces to keep the case slim while maintaining adequate protection at the corners. The anti-slip texture was engraved into the mold cavity at the contact points where traction matters during one-handed use, rather than applied uniformly across the surface. The silicone compound was tuned with UV stabilizers and anti-aging additives to resist yellowing and surface hardening under prolonged light exposure. This is a brand-customer customization case, not a product for sample sale. Brands developing similar protective solutions can begin with a validation batch of 100 pieces, with all tooling, molding, and inspection completed in-house.
