When a brand customer evaluates a protective case supplier, the conversation usually starts with material and price. But material and price do not explain why one supplier's case fits cleanly and another's needs trimming at the edges. That difference comes from the mold, the process behind it, and how tightly those variables are controlled.
For the PAX-A50, the terminal's compact body and closely spaced buttons made fit the primary engineering problem. Before any tooling was made, we measured the key positions, port openings, and outer perimeter, then used those measurements as fixed reference points for the mold geometry. Wall thickness around the button area was controlled so the case does not interfere with tactile response, while corner thickness was verified separately for drop protection. The mold itself was built in-house, which means we could check the first samples against the original measurements rather than shipping them out and waiting for feedback. This is a brand-customer customization case, not a product for sample sale. Brands developing similar protective solutions can begin with a validation batch of 100 pieces, with all tooling, molding, and inspection completed in-house.
1. Fit Treated as an Engineering Problem, Not a Shape Copy : The A50's key positions, port openings, and perimeter are measured before tooling, then used as fixed reference points for the mold geometry, so the finished case fits without trimming or adjustment.
2. Button Area Wall Thickness Controlled Separately : The button perimeter is kept thin enough to preserve tactile response, while corner thickness is verified independently to absorb drop impact—two different design problems solved at the same mold.
3. In-House Mold Fabrication Enables Fast Fit Verification : Because the mold is built internally, first samples can be checked against the original measurements immediately rather than waiting on an external tooling vendor.
1.Industry Compatibility:
Retail & Payment : POS terminals in stores, supermarkets, hotels, and restaurants requiring device protection
Logistics & Delivery : Handheld POS devices used in field operations, delivery services, and mobile payment scenarios
Unattended & Self-Service : Kiosk terminals, self-checkout devices, and automated payment stations
2.Core Product Application Scenarios:
Shared Public Terminals : Non-toxic, contact-safe compound supports use in environments where many different people handle the device daily
High-Touch Checkout Counters : Shape-retentive material holds the case's form through months of daily handling without sagging at the corners
Long-Deployment Fleets Across Locations : Anti-aging additives slow visible color shift so replacement cases match existing units over time
